Responsibilities
- Architect and build maintainable, performant Android client code for Netflix’s shared server-driven UI architecture.
- Define and drive best practices for consistency, reliability, simplicity, documentation, and high-volume code development.
- Use Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Circuit, Dagger/Hilt, and GraphQL to deliver scalable framework solutions.
- Develop testable code and write automated tests using JVM Unit, Espresso, and Paparazzi.
- Modernize Android technologies and software engineering practices to improve innovation velocity.
- Collaborate with client and server partners to define and deliver framework and architecture direction.
- Influence technical roadmaps and drive forward-looking solutions with minimal supervision.
- Lead projects, manage scope and trade-offs, and mentor less-experienced Android engineers.
- Integrate GenAI and agentic workflows into team engineering practices and the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of Android development, including Android UI architecture and frameworks.
- Ability to introduce new technical paradigms and practices and drive forward-looking solutions or roadmaps with little supervision.
- Strong track record of leading projects and delivering results, with excellent project management and estimation skills.
- Practical problem-solving skills that balance business, user, and architectural needs while avoiding over-engineering.
- Experience with or strong aptitude for Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Circuit, Dagger/Hilt, GraphQL, and automated Android testing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across client and server teams and appreciate diverse perspectives.
- Track record of weaving GenAI and agentic workflows into team engineering practices and changing how the SDLC works for colleagues.
- Strong technical judgment, curiosity, ownership, and communication skills.
