Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and debug control logic and power-control algorithms for FACTS devices.
- Perform combined testing of control-system software and hardware using real-time simulators.
- Review customer specifications, participate in customer meetings, and verify requirements during factory acceptance testing.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, lead engineers, project managers, suppliers, customers, and Hitachi Energy offices throughout projects.
- Travel to customer sites to support energization and ensure safe, successful system startup.
Requirements
- M.Sc. in engineering, specializing in power systems, control systems, power electronics, automatic control theory, software engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Experience in software development, programming, and testing.
- Engineering experience in control theory or power systems, including plants, converter stations, automation, FACTS, or HVDC, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of power-quality applications, active and reactive power concepts, and the MACH control system is advantageous.
- Fluent English communication is essential; Spanish language skills are an advantage.
