Responsibilities
- Own technical direction for Apollo’s most critical and ambiguous cross-organizational problems.
- Make and remain accountable for multi-year architectural and platform decisions.
- Set technical strategy for the company’s AI- and agent-focused product rebuild.
- Raise engineering standards through patterns, designs, reviews, and technical decisions.
- Multiply the effectiveness of senior engineers through mentorship and technical leadership.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership on the company’s technology direction.
- Define high-level AI-native engineering practices and identify opportunities for AI to reshape product development.
Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of setting technical direction across an entire engineering organization or product/platform.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and architecture, including reliability, scalability, and cost tradeoffs.
- Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes decisions and the influence to align multiple teams.
- Record of multiplying the impact of senior engineers.
- Current fluency with AI-assisted development and a clear perspective on the future of AI in engineering.
