Responsibilities
- Build and operate production AI agents and agentic workflows covering orchestration, tool use, data connections, deterministic logic, state, and permissions.
- Work directly with design customers to understand workflows, use live data, and deliver customer-facing implementations.
- Create evaluation datasets, pre-launch thresholds, regression suites, and post-launch monitoring based on real customer work.
- Build human-review tooling including exception queues, escalation paths, and auditable tracing of agent decisions.
- Run shadow-mode parallel comparisons against customers’ existing processes and resolve discrepancies before launch.
- Convert customer-specific work into reusable agents, integrations, and playbooks while minimizing customization.
- Handle production incidents end to end and feed failures into evaluations and controls.
- Help establish the technical bar and support team growth.
Requirements
- Personally built and operated at least one AI agent or agentic workflow in production, including the ability to explain its operation, failures, evaluation, and deterministic or human-led components.
- Strong engineering judgment across models, orchestration, APIs, data, integrations, permissions, observability, and evaluations.
- Direct experience working with customers or end users through discovery, implementation, or incident resolution.
- Ability to decompose messy workflows into deterministic steps, agentic decisions, human judgment, and exception paths, and define testing for each.
- Strong focus on grounding, constrained actions, verification, evaluation, review, and monitoring to prevent incorrect AI outputs from reaching customers.
- Comfort operating in zero-to-one ambiguity, shipping frequently, owning outcomes, and handling review tooling and data plumbing.
- Experience in regulated domains such as payroll, payments, tax, benefits, or labor compliance is preferred but not required.
- Production experience is valued more than a particular title or number of years.
