Base Salary

$260k - $340k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect a unified infrastructure spanning Bare-Metal-as-a-Service, Intelligent IaaS, and Elastic CaaS.
  • Design zero-latency InfiniBand/RDMA fabrics for massive-scale AI training workloads.
  • Build thin KVM or custom micro-VM virtualization layers with enterprise-grade isolation.
  • Develop a high-performance Kubernetes or Slurm container substrate for heterogeneous GPU clusters.
  • Define the cloud fabric roadmap for SR-IOV, RDMA, virtualized GPU scheduling, memory, networking, and compute management.
  • Advise executive leadership on hardware-software co-design decisions while leading hands-on R&D teams.
  • Draft white papers and RFCs defining Crusoe’s compute and networking stack.
  • Debug complex I/O-path race conditions and optimize kernel-level memory pinning for GPU clusters.
  • Represent Crusoe in open-source communities and industry forums.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience designing and shipping core infrastructure at a major hyperscaler or specialized HPC cloud.
  • Authoritative knowledge of the Linux kernel, virtualization internals including KVM, QEMU, and Firecracker, and high-performance networking including RoCE v2 and InfiniBand.
  • Experience designing software to maximize NVIDIA and AMD GPU and high-speed NIC performance.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguous projects and delivering production-ready, mission-critical systems.
  • A portfolio of significant patents, open-source contributions, or published research in distributed systems is expected or beneficial.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related analytical field, or equivalent professional experience, is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include patents, Linux Kernel or Kubernetes maintainership, large-scale LLM training and inference optimization, peer-reviewed systems publications, IETF RFCs, and significant open-source or industry white-paper contributions.
