$232k - $258k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive infrastructure initiatives involving new host and volume types, OS/kernel upgrades, and improved VM and storage availability and performance.
- Design and build globally scalable, highly available orchestration, monitoring, and framework systems resilient to zonal disasters.
- Create tools and frameworks that improve the velocity and quality of hundreds of internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical mentorship, review code and designs, and lead engineers while promoting continuous learning.
- Lead large-scale engineering projects from inception through global productionization and define organization-wide standards.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Operations to align technical investments with business value.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience building scalable, fault-tolerant products or platforms.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, C, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience leading large-scale engineering projects through their full lifecycle.
- Expertise in engineering and business tradeoffs, including buy-versus-build and incremental-versus-rewrite decisions.
- Experience identifying architectural gaps and reducing technical debt across an organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD focused on distributed computing, system performance, or machine learning.
- Preferred: experience contributing to open-source projects or leading industry-level technical discussions.
- Ability to anticipate future business needs and create extensible, modular designs for long-term scalability.

- Base salary range of USD $232,000–$258,000 per year for Seattle, WA-based roles.
