Base Salary
$85k - $113k/yr
Responsibilities
- Resolve complex escalations involving unexpected usage, missing metering data, usage spikes, billing anomalies, unclear attribution, quotas, plans, exclusions, and overages.
- Become the subject-matter expert for usage metering, revenue-impacting behavior, and Cloud Cost Management across Datadog products.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to escalate bugs, clarify expected behavior, and improve usage and billing transparency.
- Build internal guides, tooling, diagnostics, playbooks, and customer-facing content for billing, revenue, usage, and cost-management questions.
- Run training sessions and create scalable resources that enable global Solutions teams to support usage, billing, and cost conversations.
- Surface customer feedback and recurring patterns to influence the roadmap for usage visibility, billing transparency, and cost management.
Requirements
- Demonstrated technical problem-solving and customer engagement skills involving usage, billing, cost impact, and data anomalies.
- Understanding of cloud cost drivers, usage attribution, spend analysis, and cloud billing models.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP usage types, tags, accounts or projects, APIs, and billing exports.
- Ability to analyze data retention, high-cardinality signals, metric volume, log ingestion, and overage prevention in relation to cost impact.
- Familiarity with APIs, product usage metrics, tagging strategies, account-level configurations, and multi-organization setups.
- Ability to work across backend telemetry pipelines and customer-facing technical and business contexts.
- Strong analytical, communication, root-cause analysis, and ambiguity-management skills.
- Computer Science or Engineering major experience is preferred.
- Experience with Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, Datadog, integrations ecosystems, or similar observability platforms is preferred.
