Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned customer accounts and lead initiatives to improve their cloud environments.
- Lead incident response, postmortems, root-cause analysis, Tier 3 escalations, and corrective and preventive actions.
- Define and maintain SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, high-availability architecture, disaster recovery, scalability, and resilience patterns.
- Automate infrastructure and operations using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and Azure Functions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using canary and blue/green deployment strategies.
- Implement monitoring and observability for metrics, traces, and logs using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, Jaeger, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Provision and manage virtual machines, storage, networking, VPNs, ExpressRoute, peering, patching, backups, encryption, decryption, and image management.
- Optimize cloud performance and cost through rightsizing, autoscaling, and reserved instances.
- Manage identity and access controls and enforce security, compliance, audit, and reporting practices across multi-cloud environments.
- Coach and mentor Tier 2 and junior SREs and maintain reliability-focused design reviews, documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.
Requirements
- Any graduate education is required.
- Requires 8 to 15 years of experience, including senior SRE experience and 10 to 15 years of expertise in multi-cloud operations, reliability engineering, automation, and large-scale infrastructure management.
- Strong experience with AWS and Azure, incident response, SLIs/SLOs, observability, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud security, cost optimization, and highly available and scalable systems.
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Azure Functions, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, Jaeger, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
- Ability to lead customers, solve complex problems, make tactical decisions independently, and mentor engineering teams.
- Knowledge of security breaches, compliance requirements including GDPR and HIPAA, identity and access management, disaster recovery, resilience patterns, chaos engineering, and fault injection.
