Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient AWS infrastructure solutions using automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage and improve cloud networking, security, monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Develop and maintain reusable Terraform and Terragrunt modules for consistent multi-environment deployments.
- Administer and automate Linux environments, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Operate and enhance monitoring, observability, alerting, dashboards, and proactive issue detection processes.
- Support incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and service continuity improvements.
- Operate and maintain automated infrastructure and application deployment pipelines.
- Support containerized and orchestrated services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Participate in the on-call rotation according to the agreed rota calendar.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and technical and non-technical stakeholders across Pan-Baltic teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior DevOps, Platform Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar role supporting large-scale or business-critical systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, VPCs, subnets, route tables, gateways, security groups, network ACLs, IAM, load balancing, monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and secure connectivity.
- Strong practical experience with Terraform and Terragrunt, including reusable modules, environment composition, dependency management, and multi-environment deployments.
- Experience with configuration management solutions; Chef is preferred, with Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack also considered valuable.
- Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, automation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating and maintaining deployment pipelines and automated infrastructure and application deployments.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, and alerting tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and operating highly available, resilient, and disaster recovery-ready services.
- Proficiency in Python, Ruby, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and operational tooling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Fluent spoken and written English is required.
- Advantageous qualifications include Chef recipe or cookbook development, Ruby for Chef automation, Oracle databases, Oracle FLEXCUBE environments, AWS hybrid connectivity, Oracle backup and recovery, regulated-industry experience, and service or incident management practices.
