Responsibilities
- Provide effective Level 2 production support and rapidly respond to incidents and escalated user queries.
- Participate in major incident management calls, identify root causes, and resolve incidents.
- Monitor and optimize system availability, performance, scalability, and resource usage.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes, deployment, housekeeping, and application support activities.
- Collaborate with development and other technology teams to improve reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with users, senior stakeholders, operations teams, compliance teams, and project areas.
- Support applications in a follow-the-sun model, including required shifts and occasional weekend support.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in production support, incident response, problem resolution, stakeholder communication, and priority management.
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Unix commands for deployment, automation, and housekeeping.
- Experience with Java applications, Oracle, SQL including PL/SQL or MySQL, RDBMS, query writing, performance tuning, and data analysis.
- Experience with at least two middleware technologies, including JBoss, Apache Tomcat, or GlassFish.
- Experience with microservices, containerized environments such as OpenShift, APIs, and public cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, ITRS, or Observe, and scheduling tools such as TWS or Autosys.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins or GitLab, and with Kafka and Kibana/eSaaS.
- Programming experience in languages such as ML, AI/GenAI, Shell, Java, or Python is preferred.
- Ability to work shifts and provide occasional weekend support during releases or as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders and coordinate across technology, compliance, operations, and project teams.
