Base Salary
$94k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, test, document, and implement complex software solutions for core claims applications.
- Investigate and resolve application, system, and production issues through troubleshooting.
- Conduct systems analysis and recommend operational, policy, and procedural improvements.
- Prepare and install solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, review teammates’ code, and learn and apply system design principles.
- Mentor junior engineers and potentially peer engineers.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant education and/or experience.
- Four years of software development experience demonstrating technical depth in specific disciplines or technologies.
- Two years of experience delivering technology solutions across all phases of the software systems and application development lifecycle, including leading code and design reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Basic understanding of one or more of Java, Swift, Objective-C, COBOL, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python.
- Experience supporting production issues through application and system troubleshooting.
- Experience articulating technical challenges and solutions, plus basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS cloud deployment, REST and API development, JavaScript, JMS, J2C, ORM frameworks, JDBC, Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Gradle, Git, GitHub, GitLab, REST testing, and automated test framework development.
- Preferred experience includes relational database design and optimization, Spring Boot API development, and military experience or experience as a military spouse or domestic partner.
