Responsibilities
- Build, manage, and scale massively scalable distributed database and storage systems.
- Architect, design, develop, test, release, triage, debug, document, and maintain distributed data infrastructure.
- Lead architecture discussions, create design documentation, and participate in design and code reviews.
- Improve architecture, technology stacks, coding standards, build systems, test systems, code quality, and maintainability.
- Guide junior engineers and collaborate across cloud teams to deliver scalable, high-speed distributed systems.
- Work with architects, engineering leaders, product managers, customers, and business partners to deliver solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 8+ years of experience, or a master’s degree in Computer Science plus 6+ years of hands-on experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing large-scale, multi-tiered distributed software, storage, and database systems.
- Hands-on expertise in object-oriented design, distributed programming, C++, and NoSQL and relational database systems at scale.
- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals, including storage and buffer management, WAL, MVCC, lock management, and query planning and execution.
- Strong transaction management experience covering isolation levels, concurrency control, deadlock detection, crash recovery, physical and logical replication, and high-availability and failover strategies.
