Responsibilities
- Write well-designed, reusable, testable, and secure backend code using software development best practices.
- Design and implement low-latency, highly available, and performant applications.
- Architect APIs for user-facing elements developed by frontend developers.
- Collaborate with designers, analysts, quality assurance, and other multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in and conduct code reviews.
- Discover, learn, and implement new technologies.
- Mentor junior team members in best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience designing and building backend systems.
- Experience with one or more object-oriented programming languages, including Java, C#, Python, or Go.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking, distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environments.
- Understanding of scalable application design principles.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, key-value stores, and search engines.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Strong unit testing, debugging, analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Preferred: Java and Spring Framework experience, including Spring Boot, MVC, Data, Cloud, and Security.
- Preferred: experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, REST APIs, large-scale systems, distributed systems, concurrent programming, scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, stream processing, Agile methodologies, open-source contributions, and CI/CD practices.
