Responsibilities
- Own the long-term technical strategy and architectural roadmap for simulation infrastructure.
- Make high-consequence architectural decisions with awareness of downstream impacts.
- Identify and resolve fundamental technical risks before they become blockers.
- Establish and steward engineering standards and simulation best practices.
- Lead the design and implementation of production-quality multi-physics simulation software.
- Architect and implement tightly coupled physics algorithms with attention to performance.
- Define the simulation platform's external-facing API strategy across C++ and Python.
- Drive creation of comprehensive documentation and developer guides.
- Serve as a technical anchor across the simulation team and unblock decisions.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to their career development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, or applied mathematics; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience focused on simulation or aerospace applications.
- Expert-level proficiency in modern C++ (C++17 or newer) and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in Python for API design, scripting, and data analysis.
- Proven track record of setting technical direction for complex software systems.
- Deep expertise in two or more domains such as GNC, thermal control, or propulsion.
- Experience defining and executing verification and validation frameworks.
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions within complex systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
