Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own the agent platform orchestration layer and internal-system tool integrations.
- Develop APIs, data access patterns, and service integrations that enable agents to execute operational workflows.
- Architect knowledge and memory infrastructure for agent retrieval and cross-system actions.
- Implement trust and safety capabilities including audit trails, human-in-the-loop controls, and guardrails.
- Build agent evaluation and testing infrastructure for accuracy, reliability, and regression measurement.
- Partner with Operations to identify automation opportunities and convert process knowledge into agent capabilities.
- Mentor engineers as the foundational team grows.
Requirements
- At least five years of backend engineering experience building and operating production systems.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents, including orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, or tool/function calling.
- Strong API design and system integration skills.
- Product-minded approach with the ability to contribute to product decisions and question requirements.
- Proven ownership of complex projects in ambiguous, early-stage environments.
- Ability to design, build, and operate production systems with strong backend fundamentals.
- Curiosity and motivation to develop practical expertise in AI, LLMs, and agent systems.
- Ability to work pragmatically and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
