Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve automation solutions using Python and Shell in Linux environments.
- Support and enhance production platform services for reliability, availability, and performance.
- Develop runbooks, operational documentation, and disaster recovery processes.
- Operate containerized and orchestrated environments using Podman and Kubernetes.
- Contribute to CI/CD, infrastructure automation, infrastructure-as-code, Git, and Jenkins workflows.
- Build and support API-based integrations across internal tools and services.
- Partner with platform, software, network, and operations teams to identify failure points and improve systems.
- Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and operational insights.
- Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, and operational metrics.
- Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, postmortems, and service restoration.
- Participate in on-call support and operational-readiness activities.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Operations.
- Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and supporting automation with Python and/or Shell scripting.
- Strong Linux administration experience, preferably with RHEL.
- Working knowledge of compute, storage, networking, DNS, load balancing, and security fundamentals.
- Experience with Docker or Podman and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, and microservices.
- Experience creating and consuming API-based services.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability practices.
- Familiarity with incident response, root cause analysis, production support, Agile delivery, and on-call work.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a STEM-related field, enterprise or mission-critical production experience, public-cloud exposure, Cisco platform familiarity, disaster recovery experience, enterprise networking knowledge, ServiceNow and Jira exposure, OpenTelemetry or AIOps awareness, GitHub Copilot experience, or CCNA, Kubernetes, or RHEL Administrator certifications.
