Responsibilities
- Write production Python to train credit underwriting models, including tree-based models, and prepare them for production.
- Build and maintain ML pipeline infrastructure covering feature computation, retraining, and monitoring.
- Deploy models to production using AWS SageMaker and operate them after launch.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ML pipeline issues end to end.
- Collaborate with data scientists and help scale Klarna’s in-house data science capabilities for credit risk and fraud.
Requirements
- Production experience writing Python for machine learning, including training models rather than only prototyping in notebooks.
- Experience taking machine learning models and pipelines from development into production and owning them after deployment.
- Hands-on experience with tree-based models.
- Experience deploying and operating machine learning workloads on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
- Understanding and application of the software development lifecycle, including version control, testing, and code review, to ML code.
- Experience working closely with data scientists to convert models into reliable production pipelines.
- Clear spoken and written English communication.
- Credit risk, fraud, financial services, large-scale data pipelines, model monitoring or observability, and CI/CD for ML deployment are preferred.
