Base Salary
$100k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for computer systems, networks, and information.
- Define system security requirements and design cybersecurity architecture.
- Partner with engineering teams on security and privacy initiatives while considering security data accessibility, quality, and reliability.
- Analyze security posture, identify gaps and vulnerabilities, conduct security tests, and support operational security improvements.
- Participate in security operations, risk assessments, incident response, and project maintenance.
- Write reports covering assessment findings, outcomes, and recommendations for improving system security.
- Report actual or suspected security or policy violations and breaches to the appropriate authority.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer.
- Experience building and maintaining security systems.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, authentication systems, log management, and content filtering.
- Experience with network security, networking technologies, and system, security, and network monitoring tools.
- Thorough understanding of current security principles, techniques, and protocols.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences in written and oral formats.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, detail-orientation, and multitasking skills, including the ability to work under pressure.
