Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, maintain, and technically assess Android design-system components and interaction patterns.
- Write and review clean, testable, scalable code using appropriate design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Maintain code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Contribute to mobile application architecture in line with platform strategies, governance policies, and standards.
- Collaborate with design, development, architecture, client, and usability teams to establish goals, solve problems, and align on business outcomes.
- Document mobile components and support the development community with adoption, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Champion design-system adoption across Roche and evaluate new technologies, patterns, frameworks, prototypes, and user-experience standards.
- Create documentation for AI agents, build test applications for AI-assisted coding compatibility, and document components in Figma Code Connect.
Requirements
- At least five years of Android development experience.
- Expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Git.
- Experience with Material Design 3 for Jetpack Compose and design systems.
- Strong experience building reusable, testable, and composable UI components.
- Proficiency with unit tests, screenshot tests, and Compose UI tests.
- Deep knowledge of accessibility best practices in Jetpack Compose and RTL support.
- Interest in modern technology trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of iOS development, cross-platform solutions, innersourced products, developer communities, open source, or third-party library creation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Dokka, documentation deployment, GitHub Actions, design or Figma tokens, regulated environments, and JavaScript or TypeScript is advantageous.
