Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, optimize, and troubleshoot Python libraries, frameworks, and services.
- Design and add features to React frontends when appropriate.
- Build and maintain data-platform infrastructure, services, and libraries with stability, observability, access control, performance, resilience, and maintainability in mind.
- Collaborate with technologists, quantitative developers, data operations, and data-pipeline developers to meet evolving business requirements and reduce technical debt.
- Write and review requirements documents, design documents, and production-support runbooks.
- Support developers in adopting and efficiently using platform tools and products.
- Assist with higher-order production troubleshooting during normal working hours when first-line support requires deeper investigation.
Requirements
- More than four full years of relevant experience is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM subject is required.
- Strong Python programming skills are required.
- Practical knowledge of data-transfer protocols and tools such as FTP, SFTP, HTTP APIs, and AWS S3 is required.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Experience designing, testing, optimizing, and troubleshooting data-intensive applications or services is preferred.
- Experience across web development, data engineering, backend development, or operations is preferred.
- Experience with SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C++, or Rust is preferred.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis or Valkey, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Helm, HashiCorp Vault, or HashiCorp Nomad is preferred.
