Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable cross-border trade platforms, services, and cloud-based applications for Walmart’s global marketplace.
- Lead technical architecture, discovery, design discussions, project scopes, milestones, and cross-cutting engineering solutions.
- Guide and mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote coding standards, design patterns, testing, and development best practices.
- Provide technical authority and hands-on direction across distributed systems, performance, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, DevOps, partner platform teams, and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and presentations communicating architectural decisions and design options.
- Research emerging tools and methodologies and foster learning and innovation through technical guidance.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience designing and developing highly scalable applications.
- Minimum qualification: a bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer or software field plus five years of software engineering experience, or seven years of software engineering experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and distributed computing.
- Expertise in Java, JEE, Spring, distributed databases, Cassandra, and Kafka.
- Understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, container technologies, DevOps practices, automation, and observability.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GCP, and Azure.
- Familiarity with JUnit, Mocha, TestNG, Selenium, Swagger, and OpenAPI.
- Experience building event-based distributed systems, extensible platforms, data pipelines, and at least one cloud-based project.
- Hands-on experience writing and reviewing designs and code, including AI/ML/GenAI frameworks.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree with three years of software engineering experience and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
