Responsibilities
- Define and lead the technical strategy for AI and machine learning systems supporting recommendations, ranking, personalization, engagement, and safety.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable production-grade machine learning models using modern ML frameworks.
- Build and deploy production AI agents using raw and fine-tuned large language models, sub-agents, tools, and MCP integrations.
- Architect end-to-end ML pipelines spanning data processing, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Drive experimentation frameworks including A/B testing and offline evaluation.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to translate business challenges into impactful ML solutions.
- Mentor and elevate senior individual contributors and contribute to a strong ML engineering culture.
- Own complex and ambiguous initiatives from insight through measurable impact.
- Champion fairness, transparency, and user safety in machine learning systems.
Requirements
- Typically requires 10–15 years of experience, with alternative backgrounds demonstrating equivalent skills also considered.
- Deep expertise in machine learning and hands-on experience building and deploying large-scale production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one major machine learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with recommendation systems, ranking models, or natural language processing.
- Expertise in prompting and fine-tuning large language models and building production AI agents.
- Experience designing scalable data and machine learning pipelines using Spark, Airflow, or similar distributed systems.
- Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and influence technical strategy without direct authority.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally and taking ownership of outcomes in complex organizational environments.
- Track record of mentoring and uplifting others while building inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Ability to independently design, evaluate, and optimize ML systems and guide responsible AI adoption.
