Responsibilities
- Develop software features that improve system resilience, scalability, and performance while identifying bottlenecks and failure points.
- Build automation tools and frameworks using infrastructure-as-code practices to streamline deployments and infrastructure management.
- Contribute to architectural design decisions with reliability, scalability, and performance considerations.
- Design and execute chaos engineering experiments and resiliency testing, analyze results, and implement improvements.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.
- Promote and implement error budgets, service-level objectives, service-level indicators, and other reliability best practices.
- Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or comparable experience.
- Knowledge of Splunk, Elastic Search, Prometheus, Grafana, containerization technologies, microservices, and observability practices.
- Experience with cloud-based SRE practices and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience in software development or technology operations with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems, object-oriented programming languages such as Java, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- An advanced certification in Site Reliability Engineering or a related field is preferred.
