Responsibilities
- Own tickets end to end by analyzing issues, reviewing code, clarifying requirements with business stakeholders, implementing fixes, and deploying changes to production.
- Develop and optimize backend business logic using C# and .NET 4.8.
- Write, debug, and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Server database schemas.
- Build and maintain APIs and backend service layers supporting frontend teams and downstream services.
- Participate in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, user-story collaboration, and technical planning sessions.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions while sharing knowledge with teammates.
- Deploy features through the team’s CI/CD pipeline and support quality and reliability throughout delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on backend development experience at an intermediate level or a strong record of technical growth.
- Strong expertise in C# and deep familiarity with the .NET 4.8 ecosystem.
- Advanced relational database skills and hands-on experience writing and optimizing T-SQL queries; SQL Server is preferred and Oracle experience is also valued.
- Production experience building and maintaining APIs and backend service layers.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and maintainable coding practices.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions, collaborating with Business Analysts, and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.
- Resourcefulness, initiative, independent root-cause analysis, ownership of tickets, and willingness to learn independently.
- Experience with Agile environments, user stories, sprint ceremonies, and continuous integration/deployment is nice to have.
- Familiarity with benefits administration, insurance, or similar domains is nice to have.
- Contributions to open-source or personal technical projects demonstrating continuous learning are nice to have.
