Responsibilities
- Own production systems and drive performance, reliability, uptime, and operability improvements.
- Automate repetitive tasks and develop sustainable software solutions and services.
- Monitor systems, define performance metrics, troubleshoot production issues, and manage incidents.
- Investigate and resolve time-sensitive business-impacting problems while coordinating with software, infrastructure, trading, and sales teams.
- Partner directly with traders to communicate technology changes, manage incidents, and troubleshoot issues.
- Assess the risk of system changes and support release, deployment, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Deliver strategic projects involving regulatory and technology requirements, legacy software or hardware decommissioning, and business-critical migrations.
- Identify operational efficiency and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive technical work experience.
- Proficiency in at least one modern structured programming language, such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- Experience with Linux operating system internals and/or networking concepts.
- Strong analytical, written, verbal communication, customer service, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to triage and resolve complex production issues in high-pressure environments and adapt to changing requirements.
- Preferred: experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Preferred: hands-on debugging, code optimization, and automation experience.
- Preferred: knowledge of financial markets and the FIX protocol.
