Responsibilities
- Capture technical requirements and contribute to high-level and low-level software design using AWS and Azure technologies.
- Implement features across frontend, backend, and cloud components using production-grade Java, Python, and SQL.
- Build and support complex event-driven, microservice-based systems.
- Create and maintain automated tests across all layers of the stack.
- Support deployments, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, alerting, observability, performance, and system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, architectural decisions, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Identify and address technical and operational risks before they affect customers.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, product, lead engineers, and client stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- 4+ years of experience developing Java-based backend applications.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Experience building complex event-driven, microservice-based systems.
- Strong understanding of production-grade reliability, observability, security, and performance.
- Deep expertise in Java backend frameworks such as Dropwizard and strong expertise in Python backends such as Django.
- Fluency with React, Expo, Vite, and TypeScript.
- Experience with relational and non-relational data modeling and SQL development.
- Extensive experience supporting event-driven cloud platforms and AWS services at scale.
- Ability to debug and modify GitHub Actions CI/CD automation and Terraform or Pulimi infrastructure as code.
- Must be based in the United States and be a US citizen.
- Must be able to pass a Federal Personnel Security clearance.
- Government-sector experience is a strong plus.
- Client-facing or consulting experience is preferred but not required.
