Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, review, and troubleshoot secure production code for large-scale data-intensive applications.
- Implement SRE practices including automated monitoring, alerting, self-healing, incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Define and measure SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets with product, engineering, and operations teams.
- Lead adoption and governance of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering, SDLC, and delivery automation across multiple teams.
- Establish reliability, security, resiliency, quality, and reuse standards for AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Mentor engineering team members and lead communities of practice focused on reliability, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate external vendors, startups, and internal architectural proposals for applicability to existing systems.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, testing, and operating large-scale enterprise data platforms and solutions.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, large-scale data processing, Java, Python, Spark or PySpark, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Demonstrated expertise applying SRE principles, reliability engineering, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience leading multi-team adoption of AI-assisted development and delivery tools, including governance, human-in-the-loop validation, quality gates, and outcome measurement.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, resiliency, security, and control expectations in engineering workflows.
- Experience with system design, application development, testing, debugging, maintenance, database querying, and operational stability.
- Strong background with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, or Grafana, plus incident management and performance optimization.
- Preferred experience with continuous delivery, data engineering, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, microservices, API design, Kafka, Redis, MemCached, Airflow, and Temporal.
- Knowledge of financial services industry technology and IT systems.
