Responsibilities
- Build production-quality backend software with performance, resilience, extensibility, and security in mind.
- Implement well-defined requirements into working features and incremental product improvements.
- Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, and operational knowledge for owned components.
- Apply unit and integration testing strategies that support deployment confidence.
- Use logs, monitoring, and metrics to diagnose issues and participate in incident response and post-incident reviews.
- Support service reliability, recoverability, dependency updates, security updates, and technical-debt reduction.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, senior engineers, technical leads, and cross-functional partners.
- Begin mentoring junior engineers or new team members where appropriate.
Requirements
- Typically 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Ability to learn quickly and contribute to production software systems.
- Experience working in Agile cross-functional product development teams.
- Experience translating ambiguous requirements into scalable solutions.
- Proficiency in one modern backend stack, with .NET/C# essential and Java or Node.js also listed, plus familiarity with SQL and data skills.
- Understanding of system design, domain modeling, design patterns, SOLID principles, and API design.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests and working with CI/CD.
- Cloud and DevOps exposure, preferably AWS, including observability and operational readiness.
- Security-minded approach aligned with Secure SDLC practices.
- Ability to communicate technical topics clearly, take ownership of components, and work effectively with guidance from senior engineers.
