Responsibilities
- Architect and build reusable services, APIs, libraries, automation platforms, and self-service security products.
- Implement backend and frontend features, write maintainable code, and deliver secure product functionality end to end.
- Automate compliance evaluation, posture analytics, vulnerability triage, and executive-ready dashboards using Grafana and Power BI.
- Develop AI-assisted security capabilities, including contextual vulnerability triage and proactive guardrails.
- Build secure APIs and integrations with authorization, input validation, error handling, and security workflow integration.
- Design scalable, resilient, observable services and CI/CD pipelines with security steps and quality gates.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and design teams, lead design reviews, guide peers, and drive adoption through demos, guidance, and workshops.
Requirements
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience building production software and platforms focused on automation, integrations, and product reliability.
- Experience owning products end to end from technical design and prototyping through implementation, testing, rollout, and maintenance.
- Expertise in at least one backend language such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js/TypeScript, with related framework experience including Spring Boot/MVC, Express.js, or NestJS.
- Strong frontend experience building single-page applications, preferably with Angular, or with React or Next.js.
- Experience with secure APIs and integrations, data modeling and persistence, performance tuning, migration strategies, observability, and automated testing.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native applications, containerized systems, and basic Kubernetes orchestration.
- Exposure to AI/LLM product development, prompt engineering, model integration, evaluation, validation, and data privacy.
- Working knowledge of application security fundamentals, OWASP Top 10, secure coding, supply chain security, and SAST/DAST, dependency, and cloud security tools.
- Strong communication, problem decomposition, acceptance-criteria definition, iterative delivery, peer guidance, and architecture influence skills.
- ServiceNow AVR exposure is an asset; CISSP or CEH certifications are optional.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada; Quebec-based candidates must be bilingual because of regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues.
