Base Salary
$187k - $268k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve automated test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and scale-testing methodologies for SONiC.
- Drive technical direction for feature validation, performance benchmarking, and system-level stress testing.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with software engineering and product management teams to define test requirements and improve product testability.
- Represent Cisco in the SONiC open-source community and contribute to upstream test frameworks and operating-system roadmap discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of related experience, Master’s degree plus 6 years, or PhD plus 3 years in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of software testing experience in network engineering.
- Deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, Layer 2/Layer 3 switching, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Experience with Python or C/C++ for test automation and scripting.
- Experience with Linux-based networking environments and containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and virtual machines.
- Preferred experience with SONiC or similar open-source network operating systems.
- Preferred hands-on experience with Ixia, Spirent, or other traffic generators and network emulators.
- Preferred experience leading technical teams or driving large-scale engineering initiatives.
- Preferred knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and complex cross-stack debugging abilities are preferred.
