Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve core robot-control software in C++.
- Own system-level orchestration in Python and integrate platform subsystems.
- Build and enhance simulation and testing infrastructure for system validation.
- Work across the full stack to address high-priority technical bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with ML, hardware, and clinical teams to deliver end-to-end product functionality.
- Help define, refine, and harden software architecture for IDE submission and clinical use.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Advanced proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor and sound judgment in their use.
- Systems engineering experience involving concurrency, real-time constraints, inter-process communication, and related tradeoffs.
- Pragmatic engineering judgment balancing shipping velocity, performance optimization, and refactoring.
- Excellent communication skills and experience producing clear code, design documentation, and technical communication.
- Comfort working on a small, fast-moving, cross-disciplinary team.
- At least 5 years of experience building non-trivial production software in system-level domains such as robotics, embedded systems, medical devices, scientific instrumentation, or autonomous systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, robotics, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with robotics middleware, real-time Linux, motion control or control theory, TypeScript and frontend development, Linux drivers or kernel-adjacent development, regulated software and IEC 62304, and simulation infrastructure.
