Responsibilities
- Own system design for agentic capabilities, including orchestration, context and state, tool boundaries, and reliability patterns.
- Write technical design reviews, design documents, standards, and decision records that guide architectural direction.
- Prototype architectural decisions before teams commit to them at scale.
- Partner with Data Science to integrate agent and model work with APIs, event streaming, storage, and broader platform services.
- Review engineering designs and provide substantive feedback on architecture and risk.
- Build consensus across engineering teams and drive adoption of AI-assisted and agentic development practices.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and communicate architectural trade-offs to executives and customers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience as a senior, staff, or principal-level architect or technical lead designing production systems.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, service boundaries, consistency models, event-driven architecture, API design, and reliable operation at scale.
- Hands-on production experience architecting agentic or LLM-powered systems, including agent loops, context engineering, MCP, tool or function calling, RAG, memory and state management, and guardrails.
- Working knowledge of data modeling, pipeline design, and streaming versus batch processing.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, conduct rigorous design reviews, write technical documents, mentor engineers, and communicate complex decisions clearly.
- Preferred experience with multi-agent orchestration, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience leading AI-assisted or agentic development adoption, partnering with Data Science or ML teams, and working in cybersecurity is preferred.
