Responsibilities
- Lead security initiatives and improve the security posture of critical services, assets, and data.
- Develop security-focused libraries, tools, and automation scripts for use across services.
- Implement secure-by-design principles in code, APIs, infrastructure, and software development workflows.
- Perform code reviews, threat modeling, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security tool integrations.
- Partner with software engineers, platform engineers, and Infosec to define and enforce security policies and standards.
- Respond to security incidents through detailed analysis and forensic investigations.
- Mentor teams and drive adoption of security best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong software engineering experience building secure applications and services.
- Ability to write, review, and optimize secure code, including secure coding patterns, input validation, and encryption.
- Strong knowledge of cryptography, PKI, secure authentication protocols, and authentication and authorization in microservices environments.
- Expertise in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, WAFs, and micro-segmentation.
- Experience integrating security guardrails and tools into design, coding tasks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience securing services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash and Go or Java.
- Ability to communicate complex security risks to technical and non-technical audiences and lead projects effectively.
- Preferred qualifications include contributions to open-source security tools or frameworks, professional English proficiency, and AWS Certified Security – Specialty or an equivalent Azure/GCP certification.
