Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Kubernetes deployments supporting cloud-based microservices in AWS EKS.
  • Automate application deployment and scaling processes.
  • Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot issues to ensure Kubernetes availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Support development teams with CI/CD pipelines and containerized-application best practices.
  • Implement Kubernetes security best practices, network policies, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Manage containerized applications and associated Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Apply Kubernetes networking concepts, including CNI plugins and ingress controllers such as Kubernetes Gateway.
  • Use Helm and Kustomize to manage Kubernetes application configuration.
  • Manage observability tools such as Grafana and Istio.
  • Collaborate with customers, development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including pods, services, and deployments.
  • Experience with Docker and managing Kubernetes in AWS EKS environments.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, CNI plugins, and ingress controllers such as Kubernetes Gateway.
  • Experience with Helm, Kustomize, Grafana, and Istio.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, network policies, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Kubernetes issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution.
