Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain Kubernetes deployments supporting cloud-based microservices in AWS EKS.
- Automate application deployment and scaling processes.
- Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot issues to ensure Kubernetes availability, reliability, and performance.
- Support development teams with CI/CD pipelines and containerized-application best practices.
- Implement Kubernetes security best practices, network policies, and disaster recovery processes.
- Manage containerized applications and associated Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Apply Kubernetes networking concepts, including CNI plugins and ingress controllers such as Kubernetes Gateway.
- Use Helm and Kustomize to manage Kubernetes application configuration.
- Manage observability tools such as Grafana and Istio.
- Collaborate with customers, development teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including pods, services, and deployments.
- Experience with Docker and managing Kubernetes in AWS EKS environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking, CNI plugins, and ingress controllers such as Kubernetes Gateway.
- Experience with Helm, Kustomize, Grafana, and Istio.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, network policies, and disaster recovery processes.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex Kubernetes issues.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution.
