Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Oracle Database solutions that meet architectural and performance standards.
- Develop and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code, including packages, queries, AQ queues, jobs, triggers, and related database functionality.
- Create and review technical designs, specifications, and requirements validation documentation.
- Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts, scheduled jobs, and automation tools using Perl, Python, or Jython.
- Use GitLab or SVN for version control, merge requests, and deployment pipelines.
- Conduct and document unit, regression, stress, and performance testing using tools such as UTPLSQL.
- Use Jira for issue tracking, release management, and project coordination.
- Support troubleshooting and triage across database and UNIX environments.
- Lead projects or project components and deliver high-quality results within established deadlines.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps teams, stakeholders, and global cross-functional teams to ensure solution quality and architectural consistency.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of IT experience, including extensive hands-on work with Oracle Database environments.
- Expertise in at least three of SQL, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and UNIX.
- More than 6 years of experience with event rules, VPD policies, audit events, scheduled jobs, triggers, or similar Oracle database capabilities.
- Strong understanding of Oracle system architecture, subsystems, and internal processes.
- Experience writing UNIX scripts using shell scripting, Perl, Python, Jython, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with GitLab and/or SVN, including merge requests and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience documenting technical designs, writing specifications, and validating business requirements.
- Experience with unit testing software and relevant development-platform tools, including required experience with UTPLSQL.
- Familiarity with test automation, unit testing frameworks, regression testing, and performance or stress testing tools.
- Experience using Jira for issue tracking and project management.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across global distributed teams.
- Ability to lead tasks or projects, meet deadlines, learn independently, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
