Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Define and own enterprise platform architecture for Kubernetes, Kafka, Flink, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, GitOps, and observability capabilities.
  • Develop target-state architectures, reference architectures, transition plans, standards, and guardrails for platform modernization.
  • Lead migration of workloads to cloud-native AWS patterns across compute, networking, storage, and security services.
  • Define GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, pipeline, environment-promotion, configuration-management, and release-automation practices.
  • Lead proof-of-concept efforts and evaluate platform technologies and tooling before architectural commitments.
  • Identify and reduce platform risks involving availability, capacity, dependencies, single points of failure, and operational gaps.
  • Collaborate with application architecture, engineering, security, operations, technical leads, and business stakeholders.
  • Establish platform-level standards for logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, capacity planning, and performance engineering.
  • Participate in incident reviews and post-mortems and translate findings into durable architecture improvements.
  • Ensure platform architecture supports Regulation SCI and CPMI-IOSCO resilience principles.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or systems architecture roles with enterprise-scale platform ownership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Kubernetes cluster architecture, workload design, networking, security, and operations at scale.
  • Hands-on experience architecting Apache Kafka deployments, including topic design, partitioning, consumer groups, schema management, and operations.
  • Practical experience with Apache Flink or equivalent stream-processing frameworks, including job design, state management, and Kubernetes deployment.
  • Strong AWS architecture experience with VPC, EC2, EKS, MSK, S3, IAM, KMS, networking, and security services.
  • Experience designing and implementing GitOps pipelines using tools such as Flux, ArgoCD, Terraform, or Helm.
  • Experience working with brownfield and legacy environments alongside cloud-native programs.
  • Ability to produce architecture diagrams, ADRs, reference architectures, and transition plans.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting platform decisions to executives and resolving technical trade-offs with engineering teams.
  • Financial-services experience in regulated environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Regulation SCI, CPMI-IOSCO resilience requirements, or equivalent regulatory frameworks is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent observability tooling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with high-performance and low-latency computing patterns for risk and clearing workloads is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF is preferred.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments and container or image management is preferred.
