Responsibilities
- Build and ship end-to-end backend features and services in Python using Django, DRF, and FastAPI.
- Own components from design and specification through deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in design and code reviews.
- Handle instrumentation, alerting, on-call participation, incident triage, and root-cause fixes.
- Execute sprint and quarterly commitments, estimate work, surface risks, and deliver reliably.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based engineers, Product, and Security teams across time zones.
- Build systems that meet PCI, SOC 2, and SOX requirements and take on increasing ownership over time.
Requirements
- Requires a B.Tech degree.
- Requires 4–6 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years building production Python services on Linux with Django, DRF, or FastAPI.
- Experience designing REST APIs and working with relational databases at production scale using ORM and raw SQL.
- Knowledge of Redis caching, Celery or equivalent queues, distributed systems, and concurrency.
- Experience with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Azure, and logging, metrics, and tracing fundamentals.
- Secure coding habits and awareness of PCI, SOC 2, and SOX requirements.
- Telephony experience with Asterisk, SIP, or FAST AGI is a plus.
- Exposure to .NET or Java is a plus.
- Clear written and verbal communication, comfort working across time zones, receptiveness to feedback, and demonstrated growth in scope and ownership are expected.
