Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methods to improve data and systems running at scale.
  • Ensure end-to-end monitoring of applications and resolve technical issues using appropriate escalation paths.
  • Drive daily activities supporting standard capacity process applications.
  • Partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify capacity risks and govern remediation statuses.
  • Assess upstream and downstream data, systems, and technical implications.
  • Make significant decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
  • Contribute to a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and respectful team culture.

Requirements

  • Have 3 or more years of experience supporting products or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessment.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages, including Python.
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to drive meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Have experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
  • Develop infrastructure engineering, data fluency, and automation knowledge across additional domains.
  • Have hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and Netcool.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code technologies, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, code reviews, and DevOps automation using Python or scripting.
  • Preferred: knowledge of observability tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Apica, and Splunk.
  • Preferred: cloud certifications on AWS, Azure, or GCP and knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering best practices.
