Responsibilities
- Set group-wide platform interoperability, security, and client library governance guardrails.
- Own cross-group identity, configuration, API gateway, observability, reliability, and performance initiatives.
- Design and develop foundational software, systems, and services while resolving complex distributed-systems and API issues.
- Define architectural standards, API versioning and deprecation strategies, performance optimizations, scalability strategies, and reference implementations.
- Lead architecture, code, testing, quality assurance, maintenance, patching, debugging, and monitoring improvements.
- Provide expert technical guidance on customer-reported issues, product defects, mitigation plans, and long-term enhancements.
- Partner with security, SRE, business leaders, customers, and external stakeholders on strategic solutions and compliance practices.
- Mentor and coach engineers, lead cross-team reviews, contribute to talent assessment and hiring, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in software architecture, platform engineering, distributed systems, API design, reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and secure software development.
- Ability to lead ambiguous, high-impact cross-group initiatives and serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Experience providing architectural direction, technical coaching, stakeholder alignment, customer issue resolution, and organizational thought leadership.
- Ability to design foundational code and software solutions, lead software lifecycle improvements, and evaluate emerging technologies and industry practices.
