Base Salary
$160k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build systems, tools, frameworks, runtimes, and end-to-end pipelines for developing, deploying, and operating agentic AI applications.
- Develop evaluations, grounding, and feedback loops to improve agent accuracy, reduce hallucinations, and track production override rates.
- Optimize platform latency, throughput, scalability, and inference cost.
- Implement permissions, guardrails, human approval and escalation paths, auditability, and rollback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with data scientists to understand platform utility and define requirements.
- Work with product owners to lead development of longer-term platform capabilities.
- Mentor junior team members and own projects across the full software engineering lifecycle.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a fast-paced software company.
- Strong software architecture and design skills with experience designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Thorough knowledge of data structures, algorithms, profiling and optimization, and object-oriented and functional programming.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- High proficiency with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, including coordinating multiple coding agents and reviewing their output.
- In-depth understanding of machine learning algorithms and experience applying machine learning or AI in a production system.
- Familiarity with LLMs and AI agent architectures is a strong plus.
- Demonstrated end-to-end project ownership and ability to make key design decisions and evaluate tradeoffs.
- Strong computer science and mathematics background, clear communication, collaboration, curiosity, and a high quality bar.
