Responsibilities
- Design and implement complex Generative AI, NLP, and agentic AI solutions in scalable architectures.
- Develop customer-facing systems addressing performance, latency, cost, scalability, and complexity challenges.
- Build use cases including retrieval-augmented chatbots, agent systems, language-model fine-tuning, and NLP pipelines.
- Plan and implement robust, scalable ML pipelines using current MLOps and LLMOps practices across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Act as a developer, expert, or Technical Lead and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and feedback to less experienced team members.
- Contribute expertise to complex technical issues, internal product development, service portfolio expansion, and technical marketing or thought-leadership content.
- Present technical solution proposals and communicate with customers during proposal and acquisition processes.
- Monitor developments in NLP and AI methods, tools, frameworks, and research.
Requirements
- At least five years of practical experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, especially with Transformers, Large Language Models, and Generative AI.
- Experience with NLP tools and methods, including OpenAI Responses API, Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, Instructor, LangChain, LangGraph, Hugging Face Transformers, Tokenizers, vector databases, model deployment, inference servers, MCP/A2A, and dataset creation.
- Production experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, SmolAgents, OpenAI Agent SDK, CrewAI, or PydanticAI.
- Knowledge of Conversational AI, RAG, Information Extraction, Tool Calling, and LLM-based evaluation workflows.
- Initial experience as a Technical Lead and demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring.
- Knowledge and ideally practical experience with Agentic RAG, GraphRAG, multi-agent workflows, Text-to-SQL, and Code Retrieval.
- Knowledge of PEFT methods including QLoRA, Instruction Fine-Tuning, Inference-Time Optimization, Post-Training, and Embeddings, plus foundational knowledge of PyTorch.
- Ability to write clean, performant, extensible code and move AI systems into production.
- Experience with cloud-based deployments and MLOps workflows on Azure, GCP, or AWS.
- Very good German skills at least at B2 level and excellent English skills at C1 level or higher.
- Ability to communicate complex content appropriately to technical and business stakeholders.
- Willingness to make occasional customer-site trips in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
