Responsibilities
- Own computer vision capabilities from problem definition through field deployment and sustained production performance.
- Build vehicle detection, tracking, OCR, attribute extraction, embedding generation, and re-identification systems.
- Develop production software and optimize multi-model pipelines for latency, throughput, memory utilization, and accuracy on constrained CPU and GPU edge hardware.
- Design evaluation frameworks, experiments, monitoring, and feedback loops connecting model performance to vehicle identification and customer outcomes.
- Diagnose failures across camera placement, optics, exposure, lighting, encoding, training data, model behavior, edge compute, and downstream processing.
- Work with field operations to test camera configurations and validate improvements under real roadside conditions.
- Improve annotation strategies, training datasets, and hard-example selection based on production failures.
- Evaluate research and translate useful ideas into dependable systems while partnering with platform, data, product, hardware, and field teams.
- Provide technical leadership through engineering, documentation, mentorship, and cross-functional problem solving.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in computer vision, data science, or research.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, OpenCV, and PyTorch programming.
- Proficiency in computer vision techniques including planar homography, keypoint detection, perspective projection, epipolar geometry, object tracking, camera calibration, and re-identification.
- Knowledge of GPU computing and inference optimization tools including CUDA, ONNX, OpenVINO, and TensorRT.
- Knowledge of object detection, segmentation, optical character recognition, signal processing, linear algebra, and Vision Transformer models.
- Experience or interest in geospatial data analysis, such as GIS and GeoPandas.
- Experience with Git and Linux systems.
- Hands-on experience applying computer vision techniques, especially on edge hardware.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, written and verbal communication, and ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
