Base Salary
$100k - $123k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement GraphQL APIs for unified data access across multiple systems.
- Expand semantic API architecture through schema design, resolver optimization, and data normalization.
- Establish data governance and security practices for semantic API layers.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data-source integration and transformation patterns.
- Perform code reviews, schema validation, performance optimization, and testing.
- Document semantic API patterns and implementations.
- Lead technical initiatives and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience, including 1–2 years focused on API architecture and data-intensive applications.
- Proficiency with GraphQL, AWS AppSync, schema design, batch Lambda resolvers, pipeline resolvers, subscriptions, and caching.
- At least 3 years of AWS cloud experience, including Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, X-Ray, Kinesis, Glue, and Athena.
- Experience with AWS CDK or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code and with Lambda optimization, including cold starts, concurrency, and VPC considerations.
- Experience with Node.js, Python, SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- Understanding of Lambda batching patterns, data architecture, data management, integration patterns, governance, and transactional and analytical workloads.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD deployment pipelines, unit and integration testing, schema validation, batch-operation testing, profiling, and optimization.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, communicate effectively, document work, and solve performance, data consistency, and architectural issues.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS certifications, energy, commodities, or supply-chain experience, multi-tenant architecture experience, open-source GraphQL contributions, and database administration experience across multiple platforms.
