Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain AI agents and generative AI applications using Python.
- Build multi-step LLM agent workflows with state management, context management, tool selection, retries, exception handling, and recovery.
- Design and refine prompts, task instructions, few-shot examples, structured outputs, grounding strategies, and context-management approaches.
- Integrate agents with APIs, MCP services, databases, knowledge sources, enterprise applications, and cloud services.
- Build and optimize RAG capabilities involving query formulation, retrieval, semantic search, context assembly, embeddings, and grounding.
- Implement schema validation, response validation, guardrails, error handling, and other controls for reliable enterprise AI behavior.
- Create reusable Python libraries, utilities, agent components, prompts, and development patterns.
- Develop automated unit, integration, regression, and AI evaluation tests for agent workflows, prompts, tool selection, model responses, and retrieval quality.
- Evaluate model and agent behavior, including factual grounding, hallucination, tool-use accuracy, retrieval effectiveness, latency, consistency, and regression performance.
- Collaborate with functional experts and Product Owners to define AI use cases, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.
- Support demonstrations, user testing, defect resolution, production validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain source code, prompts, technical designs, configurations, evaluation criteria, and support documentation.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, backlog refinement, demonstrations, testing, release readiness, and Agile/SAFe delivery activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- At least 3 years of hands-on software development experience, including production-quality Python applications and services.
- Strong Python skills including object-oriented development, modules and packages, dependency management, exception handling, logging, testing, debugging, and API development.
- Hands-on experience developing AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM-based applications, or comparable generative AI capabilities.
- Strong prompt-engineering experience covering system prompts, task instructions, few-shot examples, structured outputs, grounding, tool use, and context management.
- Experience interacting with large language models through APIs or SDKs and building workflows using tools, APIs, or MCP services.
- Hands-on experience with boto3 and botocore for cloud-service and API integrations.
- Experience with RAG, semantic search, embeddings, vector search, or other knowledge-grounded AI techniques.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs, working with JSON, and integrating Python applications with external services.
- Experience creating automated tests or evaluation methods for AI applications.
- Experience with Git or source control, code reviews, CI/CD, debugging, logging, and modern software-development practices.
- Active Secret security clearance and US citizenship are required.
- Preferred qualifications include advanced multi-tool agentic AI experience, production prompt-library experience, Amazon Bedrock, LangGraph, LangChain, Strands Agents, vector databases, Oracle AI Vector Search, SQL, Oracle, PeopleSoft, Docker, Kubernetes, OCI, Azure DevOps, secured Federal or DoD systems, and relevant Python, AWS, AI/ML, or cloud certifications.
