Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate complex software components into fully functional software systems.
- Provide technical leadership and serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system issues, processes, and regulations.
- Build polished, cohesive, effective, and user-friendly applications for large aviation-related systems.
- Estimate user stories and tasks, contribute to backlog refinement, and support Sprint Planning and iteration activities.
- Work with the Product Owner to ensure code and acceptance tests reflect desired functionality.
- Develop working software, manage change requests, communicate risks and timelines, and update task status and remaining effort.
- Design systems for testability and test automation, and deliver software in accordance with quality standards.
- Prototype solutions and evaluate technical feasibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or a directly related equivalent field.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of software development experience, or a master’s degree with 11+ years of experience.
- Strong full-stack development skills using Java 8+, Spring Boot 3.x, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or React.
- Hands-on experience with message brokers, with Kafka or RabbitMQ mandatory for asynchronous and event-driven workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and familiarity with cloud, deployment, and monitoring practices.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using tools such as Jest or Mocha.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming, debugging JavaScript, web APIs, Git, databases, and software problem-solving.
- Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with build and deployment tools, Maven, Gradle, and shell scripting.
- Preferred qualifications include Microsoft DevOps practices, configuration management, metrics and monitoring, virtualization, Azure cloud computing, Angular or React Native, mobile UI/UX, aviation, Java issue analysis, JavaScript, and Python.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and minimal direction.
