Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable Java microservices and user interfaces for Disney’s advertising platform.
- Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance without direct reports.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, alerting, and other observability solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support operational excellence.
- Champion code quality, automated testing, agile workflows, and compliant use of AI tools.
Requirements
- Requires 9–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Requires proficiency with Java and related frameworks, including Spring Boot and ORMs.
- Requires experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue or Angular.
- Requires strong experience with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema and query design.
- Requires experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Requires strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
- Requires strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes ad tech, programmatic advertising, and real-time bidding platforms.
- Preferred experience includes AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and SNS/SQS.
- Preferred education is a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
