Responsibilities
- Own the ML approach for manufacturing and MRO data from modeling through deployment in customer production environments across cloud, on-premises, and edge settings.
- Build production ML systems using sparse, drifting, miscalibrated process and sensor data, including process logs, sensor traces, inspection records, and small DoE datasets.
- Select between physics simulation, reduced-order models, and learned models, and fuse simulation output with shop-floor measurements.
- Set uncertainty quantification and validation standards, design experiments, and assess whether data is sufficient for training.
- Build end-to-end training and inference pipelines and APIs using Python, PyTorch, Pandas, FastAPI, SciPy, Kubeflow, and related tools.
- Lead data and ML system scoping and architecture, define product requirements, communicate trade-offs, mentor engineers and data scientists, and support customer scoping and development.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience after a Master’s or PhD in a commercial, non-research environment.
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying ML on manufacturing process, industrial equipment, or sensor data and measuring its production impact.
- Experience delivering ML systems end to end at scale, including reliable data pipelines, model deployment, APIs, and production tooling.
- Experience combining simulation outputs with shop-floor measurements and establishing uncertainty quantification and validation standards.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, make architecture and product decisions, communicate with senior stakeholders and process owners, and mentor technical teams.
- Experience with 3D point-cloud and mesh data is relevant to the role.
- Experience in aerospace or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites worldwide approximately 3–4 weeks per quarter.
Benefits
- Hybrid work model combining time in the New York office with work-from-home days.
- Equity options, a 5% 401(k) contribution, private health insurance, enhanced parental leave, 20 days of annual leave plus public holidays, personal development support, subsidized Gympass/Wellhub, and a Flexible Spending Account.
- Free team lunch once per week.
- The role involves customer-site travel worldwide approximately 3–4 weeks per quarter.
