Senior Forward Deployed Engineer
Hippocratic AIResponsibilities
- Design innovative AI solutions and architecture for novel healthcare challenges using advanced RAG, tool-calling, and LLM techniques.
- Design and implement advanced RAG systems optimized for relevance, latency, cost, complex data sources, and sophisticated chunking strategies.
- Apply LLM-as-judge, multi-turn reasoning, complex prompt engineering, and other advanced LLM patterns to optimize production agent behavior.
- Anticipate customer issues, propose proactive AI-driven solutions, and identify deployment optimization opportunities.
- Design high-reliability AI infrastructure and implement monitoring, logging, incident response, and reliability improvements.
- Lead technical execution and integration architecture for sophisticated, novel deployments.
- Serve as the technical authority for complex deployments, guide architectural decisions, mentor junior FDEs, and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
- Partner with customer IT teams, Deployment Strategists, and CSEs to explain architectural choices and solve complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of software engineering experience with expert-level Python and production software systems expertise.
- Advanced hands-on experience with LangChain and LangSmith, plus deep knowledge of RAG, tool calling, and advanced LLM patterns.
- Proven ability to architect and implement complex AI systems for reliability and scale.
- Experience with sophisticated integrations and enterprise systems, including systems reliability, error handling, and operational patterns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from a top-ranked university.
- Advanced RAG experience at scale and knowledge of retrieval strategies, embedding models, or vector databases are preferred.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol or similar tool-integration approaches is preferred.
- Healthcare IT experience, including EHR integrations, FHIR, HL7, or healthcare data standards, is preferred.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, contributing to AI/ML open-source projects, or driving AI systems innovation is preferred.
