Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, reliable backend services for high-volume Digital Banking platforms.
- Lead distributed-systems design involving service decomposition, asynchronous communication, fault tolerance, idempotency, backpressure, consistency, and graceful degradation.
- Build Java microservices, REST APIs, batch jobs, and event-driven workflows, including workflow orchestration implementations.
- Contribute to architecture, design reviews, code reviews, code quality, delivery execution, testing, and operational readiness.
- Ensure services are extensible, observable, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with applicable SLAs.
- Translate business capabilities into secure, performant, and maintainable technical solutions with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor and coach engineers, help resolve complex technical problems, and raise engineering standards across teams.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on backend engineering experience with Java and its frameworks.
- Extensive experience building distributed applications and operating scalable, low-latency services in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, service contracts, integration patterns, and API lifecycle practices.
- Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, JUnit, JDBC, Gradle or Maven, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Kafka or similar streaming and event-driven technologies; Kafka Streams experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, caching, high availability, multithreading, and performance analysis.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Experience with Docker, GitHub, deployment automation, and modern platform environments.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, influencing engineers, and taking technical ownership while remaining hands-on.
- Payment systems, real-time transaction platforms, customer account management, fintech APIs, full-stack development, Python, Hadoop, Spark, in-memory computing, or advanced performance optimization experience is preferred.
- GenAI experience involving LLM applications, prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool or function calling, RAG, embeddings, vector search, guardrails, evaluation, PII handling, prompt-injection risks, or data-leakage controls is preferred.
- AWS, cloud-native architecture, DevOps practices, data governance, secure data access, auditability, compliance controls, and regulated-environment experience are preferred.
