Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and scale tooling for cloud integrations and observability apps in Grafana Cloud
- Ship end-to-end features spanning user interfaces, backend services, dashboards, and alerts
- Work across TypeScript/React frontend code, Golang backend services, and Jsonnet monitoring mixins
- Own projects from problem definition through production and validate whether shipped work is effective
- Write design proposals, run demos, and represent the team's roadmap in cross-team discussions
- Contribute upstream to Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana Alloy
- Participate in the on-call rotation for owned services
Requirements
- Experience developing across both backend and frontend systems, especially Go and TypeScript or comparable languages
- Fluency with AI-assisted development, coding agents, and LLM tooling
- Working knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, alerting, and production observability systems
- Strong written communication and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Product-focused mindset with comfort deciding what to build and communicating work across the organization
- Preferred: open-source project contributions and successful pull requests
- Preferred: developer tooling experience with a large user base
- Preferred: Grafana plugins, apps, or dashboards experience
- Preferred: Grafana Alloy, the OpenTelemetry Collector, or similar telemetry pipeline tooling experience
- Preferred: Jsonnet or another configuration-as-code language experience
- Preferred: prior on-call experience for instrumented systems
